Sharpened Angles
Your scissors are a most valuable tool. Maintaining the manufacturers original sharpened angle is very important. It’s what makes the scissor cut well. A poorly sharpened angle can make a thousand dollar scissor cut like a fifty dollar scissor. It’s that important.
Are your shears sharpened at a proper angle?
I can show you with my laser angle gauge.
Many sharpeners say they can create a proper angle. MAKE THEM SHOW YOU!
Angles to remember:
45 degrees for regular cutting
For Slide cutting & Slithering the angle should be 35 to 40 degrees (the lower # is sharper)
32 degrees is for the very expensive shears, example: Hikari, Mizutzni.
